100Green
100Green are the UKs only supplier of 100% green gas and renewable electricity. Whilst many others offer 100% renewable electricity, 100Green are the only supplier to buy gas solely generated from green sources - and therefore they do not need to offset anything. As opposed to gas that is carbon neutral (where the non-green generation is offset via carbon offsetting initiatives).
100Green also offer the UKs only eco-labelled tariff. EKO is a tariff that is generated not only in 100% green ways, but also in locations that dont negatively impact wildlife " e.g. turbines are located away from migrating birds. Put simply, it has to follow additional strict sustainability criteria - over and above the standard UK green criteria.
They offer a phone-first service. When customers call them during office hours a real person will pick up the phone or answer an email.
They have a derogation from the Price Cap in recognition from Ofgem that our business model is uber-green. The 100% green gas they offer comes with additional cost associated with the certification process. Whilst this means their tariffs are not always suitable for those looking for the cheapest option, their rates fairly reflect the cost of real, green energy. They have no exit fees on any tariffs and they dont take money up front; they bill in arrears.
And finally " 100Green have been here for over 22 years they are one of the smaller energy companies and will not grow any faster than their green and customer service credentials will allow them to.
