Octopus Energy started supplying gas and electricity to customers in 2015, with the aim of providing an innovative service and positive experience to customers.

Octopus Energy plans to do in a number of ways:

• Being good for the planet, through real long-term investment in renewable generation and a low CO2 future.
• Better value; by doing away the old business models of the "Big 6" and building a business that's fit for the 21st century.

Octopus Energy has done away with lock-in contracts with onerous terms. They aim to bring in clearer, simpler pricing, with bills that actually make sense. They are using technology to create a leaner business model, one without all the notorious bureaucracy the industry is known for.

Octopus Energy is part of the Octopus Investment Group, the UK's largest investor in solar farms. The farms they've funded generate 40% of the UK's large-scale solar - enough to power over a quarter of a million homes!

Octopus Energy is part of the Energy Switch Guarantee. This is a pledge to customers that they will have a speedy and safe switch from one energy provider to another.
