Established in 1990 Npower, formerly known as National Power, launched directly following the privatisation of the state-owned Central Electricity Generating Board. Npower is now a wholly owned subsidiary of German company RWE Group that currently supplies over 3 million customers in the UK. They are one of the 'Big Six' Energy Suppliers in Britain and RWE npower renewables is one of the biggest wind-power and hydroelectric generators in the UK.

Npower's In Control Bundle includes the innovative Nest Learning Thermostat which comes at no extra cost. The Nest Learning Thermostat is a heating programmer and thermostat in one. It learns your schedule to program itself, turns down the heat when you're away and can be controlled from your smartphone, tablet or laptop. All of which can result in a more energy efficient home.
