CitzEn Energy is an energy supplier led by Southampton City Council, working alongside other local authorities across parts of the South, South West, and the Midlands.
CitizEn Energy is working in partnership with Robin Hood Energy, a not-for-profit energy supplier. Robin Hood Energy was launched by Nottingham City Council in 2015 and they share CitizEn Energys ambition of providing fairer energy for all.
Robin Hood was the first not-for-profit energy company owned by a local authority. It aims to tackle fuel poverty and make energy more affordable for all, and its already proving successful in delivering customers the best possible prices at all times, where they can, without any gimmicks or confusing small print.
Southampton Council also wants to provide all residents with competitively priced gas and electric. As CitizEn Energy is a not-for-profit company (unlike the private energy suppliers) any surplus made will be reinvested into local energy efficiency initiatives to deliver real savings for customers in the Southampton area.
Up to thirteen other local councils will also use CitizEn Energy to provide gas and electric to their residents, offering a competitively priced, local alternative to the Big Six energy companies.
